There’s something about family that keeps things real.
After my first pool book sale, I was quietly pleased that something I created might actually help someone else.
Then my youngest son Michael brought me right back down to earth.
He helps me with the heavier work around the pool and spends a lot of time in it during the summer with his daughter.
With my hip replacement coming up, he already knows more of the responsibility will likely fall to him this year.
So he said to me:
“When I ask you what to do with the pool, please don’t tell me to look it up in your book, Mom.”
That made me laugh.
I guess he prefers the quick answer…
the kind where he can ask why and get an answer right away.
And really, I understand that.
I went to my own mom for answers and input right up until she passed at 92.
Some things are just easier when you can ask someone you trust and get an answer on the spot.
